Why not join one of the UK's top Jewish Cricket Clubs? |
Based in Southgate (North London), Southgate Synagogue Cricket Club is one of the UK's most prominent Jewish cricket teams.
The club has a rich history which is continuing to get better and better. Since the club was formed over 30 years ago, the team earned recognition and was regarded as one of the best Jewish cricket teams in London.
In 2002 the club underwent rapid restructuring after a number of senior players retired. Since then the club has moved substantially forward securing a stable foundation on which to build for the future.Whilst faces have changed over the past decade, the ethos of team spirit and commitment continues today and many of the values which formed the club still apply today.
In 2008 the club celebrated its 30th anniversary by finishing runners-up in all three of the competitions it entered and is looking forward to a successful 2009.
"It's primarily about getting a bunch of guys together on a Sunday afternoon and having a great laugh whilst playing cricket. I think if you ask any of the members they will tell you its the family ethos and friendly nature and banter of the team that makes it such an enjoyable thing to be involved with," says Club Captain, Richard Mitchell.
